Initially, the fluffy paper blob wasn't a limited project, and even with this opening statement, it's still not a limited project.

What are the first 13 blobs?

We believe having character dolls is every artist's dream. A long time ago, there was a cotton Membu. At that time, there were only certain processes we did ourselves (stuffing cotton, embroidering threads). For some reason, we chose to record only 400 blobs. But after that, we continuously searched, strived, and practiced. We never thought that this fluffy Membu would be born from our own two hands, especially since this first success wasn't even expected.

The morning of June 7, 2026
A small needle pierced through the fabric, wrapping and tying knots to connect the threads, reinforcing and securing the ends. The scissors cut with a snip... The fluffy paper blob was successfully completed.

Overwhelmed, delighted, and overflowing with happiness, I couldn't resist wanting to show it off to everyone. But more than admiration, I received a warm embrace.

However, due to the difference in creative energy, playing versus working, even with love for both, problems arose. My mother taught me that this process is "the work teaching us." When I played, I abandoned technique, but after being commissioned and the role of work began, the results weren't as successful as the first blob. Blob after blob was damaged... Until 8 blobs later. That was all the fabric I had at the time. The booth was in 2 days. The additional fabric I ordered was still in transit.

I secretly sobbed but gathered my composure, pondering with the 5 inner kitty blobs. There was one piece of fabric stored in the stash, a beloved fabric that had traveled with me. This must be the time for it to embark on its journey. I laid the pattern on the fabric, using a disappearing ink pen to draw over it... 13 blobs. This was the total number I could cut. And those 13 blobs were perfectly completed. Of those, 5 have found new homes (as shown in the pictures I've shared). The other 8 blobs are still waiting for their own stories.

Looking back at this entry, I love every connection, and the number 13, which is my favorite number, makes it a truly romantic moment I want to record.

And of course, blobs 14, 15, 16… will continue to be made. 🌱
